Moody Builders started with Edward (Ted) Moody in the early 1950's when the family moved from Deepdene. He purchased 24 acres from the Cain Family on the highway which now boarders John's Drive in rye. In these early years building products were often hard to source on the sleepy southern peninsula, roads from Melbourne were nothing compared to the roads we enjoy today. Ted Moody had to be resourceful to ensure his Building business grew, he established a window joinery factory off Johns Drive & timber Mills in Main Ridge & Jamieson. In the late 1960's Sons Bill & John took over the building business and to this day John remains proprietor with his son Ryan Moody as Architect and Construction Manager for the company. Having such a long association with the local area the business has seen & responded to many changes as better roads & communications have made the area more accessible (and desirable) to Melbourne based residents. In the early years with land in plentiful supply and a "buyers market" for real estate Seaspray Homes responded with a selection of Project Homes that could be completed to various stages such as lockup, or completion. As a reaction to the market these homes were well built but a little Spartan by today's standards. As the market matured and clients expectations expanded Seaspray Homes moved with the times developing a design service proven over time to be responsive to our clients needs. Our business continues to grow in response to client demand completing domestic construction projects with either modest budgets or projects in the multi-million dollar range. Seaspray Homes with its office still located on the ground floor of Moody's Motel has become part of local landscape, the companies' longevity & success can be attributed to being responsive to our clients needs and providing professional & prompt service.
